Cardiology Department joined Imaging department to carry out MRI assessment of myocardial activity and cardiac function testing technology.

    On August 12, 20017, in Xi'an Central Hospital, with the support of director of cardiology department Ma Maofeng and director of imaging department Wu Xiping, Professor of treatment Zhang Tao and technologists Gao Ming and Ning Wenfeng completed cardiac assessment and examination of MRI after PCI with coronary heart disease and dilated cardiomyopathy. The successful completion of the examination marks a great step forward in the evaluation of myocardial performance in the Cardiology Department, Xi'an Central Hospital. 
As people's understanding of coronary heart disease continues to deepen and the treatment is changing with each passing day, coronary intervention has become a routine treatment of coronary heart disease, therefore, early identification of viable myocardium and recovery of blood supply of myocardium by coronary revascularization, can not only significantly improve ventricular function, but also significantly improve the quality of life and prognosis of patients.
    MRI is a commonly used clinical detection method. With the rapid development of MRI technology, its fast imaging technology has reached 10s time resolution and 0.1 mm spatial resolution. Coupled with the use of contrast medium, MRI has been used in the evaluation of viable myocardium in patients with coronary heart disease. MRI is to judge the presence or absence of viable myocardium by detecting myocardial wall motion, myocardial perfusion and myocardial metabolism. At the meantime, it has no radiation, and it is a kind of ‘green check’, safe and environmental. Both MRI and echocardiography can detect abnormalities of myocardial wall motion and thickening of ventricular wall. However, MRI shows that the number of myocardial segments is higher than that of echocardiography. The sensitivity of MRI rapid imaging in detecting myocardial perfusion is close to or surpassing SPECT.
     Up to now, only a few hospitals in Xi'an have carried out this examination. The success of MRI assessment of myocardial activity and cardiac function examination of our hospital plays a very important role in guiding the treatment to achieve better efficacy and is beneficial for patients.
